Loves: reading, knitting, trying to watch Edgar Wright's 1000 favourite films before the end of the world.
Came over from that other hellhole. Already feeling so much lighter.

I like to read about global politics even though it hurts at times. UK-based.

His name isn't White", "Green", or even "Col. Mustard". Sam worked for the railways for 20 years, and is now seriously injured as a result of saving others.

When do Goodwin, Carswell and their ilk recognise his contribution to society as a British national?

My secret evil plot to ‘destroy Britain’ has been unveiled by (checks notes) the same paper that endorsed Liz Truss.

If I don’t know better I’d say we’ve got them entirely rattled.

British politics is basically a doom spiral of increasingly unhinged hostile policies.

Reform says something unhinged

Labour counters with their own unhinged policy

Tories shout from back they'll be even more unhinged

Reform announces different unhinged proposal in response

And repeat...🔁

Any decent Labour prime minister would condemn these racist far right white nationalist protestors in London. Of course Starmer does nothing. He's on their side. He has to go.

🧵 Steve Coogan has dropped a political truth bomb.

He says Starmer’s Labour has abandoned its principles and is paving the way for the “racist clowns” of Reform UK.

But there’s a deeper story here — about Maurice Glasman, Blue Labour, and a dangerous ideological drift. 👇

For those happy that Israel didn’t win..

They placed 2nd, despite the song having significantly less streams than other songs in the top spots.

This is vote rigging. They should not even be in the competition.

Part of me wishes they’d win so extreme action would be taken. #Eurovision

So Eurovision is gonna need to have a VERY REAL conversation internally about what to do about a certain country that has phone banked two years in a row because of politics, right? This year was a near miss that could have killed the event. Christ that would have been bad.
