On another sidenote, waking up to some people sharing AI generated porn in a server I was in, talking about it as if those tools are a good thing... It definitely dampened my motivation for pixel art by quite a bit. Gave them a piece of my mind about it and left that place afterwards.

Even if Discord does go back on their age verification stuff, I'll probably keep adjusting to Stoat anyway because of how much of a mess Discord is on Linux, especially Arch-based distros, and I'm just tired of dealing with it. XD

If anyone is confused why artists are SO up in arms about GenAI, we've been dealing with this in some form for decades.
People who use GenAI are the same people that used to:
- steal art and edit out watermarks
- steal art and apply filters to it and claim as theirs
- recolor art
etc.
we're tired.

If anyone is confused why artists are SO up in arms about GenAI, we've been dealing with this in some form for decades.
People who use GenAI are the same people that used to:

I should be reaching out to my friends more often. On the other hand, unless I have something I consider worthwhile to share, I end up feeling like I just annoy them or get on their nerves. I keep overthinking everything I say or do. It makes moving forward barely possible if I question every step.

The Stoat devs removed the very minor amount of AI code after only a couple hours of pushback, which bodes very well for the platform! If I have to choose between a platform demanding my biometrics or one where the devs listened to feedback almost immediately, I'm picking the latter.
Please don't do that thing where you chastise people liberal-style ("ermmm that platform uses AI" with the undertone of judgement for not knowing) about Stoat; the Discord news broke only a few hours ago and the Stoat GenAI revelation was only an hour ago!! Please be so for real 😒
