Earlier this week I was elected Chair of the Saint Paul DFL. We demand the immediate release of Nekima Levy Armstrong, William Kelly, and two time St. Paul DFL endorsed Chauntyll Allen, as well as their respective charges being dropped.

Full statement below:

Could not have said it better! Rebecca Noecker gains Sustain St. Paul’s endorsement in the Ramsey Co Commissioner race. 🙌
Rebecca's nuanced grasp of policy, collaborative approach, and consistent responsiveness to constituents make her an excellent fit for a role that demands disciplined and technocratic attention to the unflashy yet vital details of delivering everyday programs and services to residents.

People keep asking what it's like living in Minneapolis right now. The best description I can think of is this: imagine any dystopian movie or book, except the resistance all have day jobs, snow to shovel and kids in sports.

Commenting turned off I see. Ah how I love Bluesky…

I have no idea. Nobody does. Except I think we can be quite certain that if Walz and MSP mayors “command” state and local police to arrest ICE, there will be mass bloodshed. I don’t want this.
How do you think this is going to turn out if nothing is done?

Not the greatest timing, but it’s nice to see this project get going again. The Transportation Museum will be a great spot to highlight the diverse and storied history this little house sheltered over the decades.

I hope Joe Thompson runs for Attorney General.
The career prosecutor overseeing the federal investigation into state social program fraud resigned abruptly this week, along with five other senior federal prosecutors.

The exodus follows reports that the DOJ was scrutinizing Renee Good's political activity in its investigation of her killing.

The replies are astonishing. Not a single person on this site has noted that barely a week ago Walz said Thompson was guilty of “defamation” and should be fired.
Joe Thompson is a principled public servant who spent more than a decade achieving justice for Minnesotans. This is a huge loss for our state.

It’s also the latest sign Trump is pushing nonpartisan career professionals out of the justice department, replacing them with his sycophants.

Even if this man is released at some point he’s going to have shoulder issues for the rest of his life. Probably low back and hip stuff, too. In the abundance of horrors, I’m thinking of all the soft tissue injuries that will also ruin lives.

This is very, very bad. Despite revealing some uncomfortable truths for us democrats, Joe was one of the good guys. I’m grateful for his service, questioning of the timing, and fearful of who he will be replaced with.

If you're able, please go out and support your local immigrant-owned restaurants, grocery stores, and shops today. ICE enforcement is harming their business and keeping their workers and customers scared and at home.

This week has been incredibly heavy for all of us. I wanted to share some thoughts, reflections, and actions we’re taking to stand up to this unprecedented incursion into our city.

Please know you are not alone. We are fighting back.

“According to the audit, one unnamed grant manager with BHA approved a payment of $672,647 to a new vendor for a single month’s work, then left state employment a few days later. That grant manager subsequently provided consulting services to the provider.”

This is why I love my community (and work hard to make it better) and stay in St. Paul, despite the exploding costs and inconveniences of city living at times.
A Washington Post article suggests that, beyond a certain threshold, larger homes don't make people happier. Instead, well-being is correlated with affordable housing in walkable neighborhoods where they feel socially connected.

Hooooooooly crap. It is so much worse than we imagined. At least now there is concrete evidence that state DHS staff actively colluded in and abetted the large-scale grift, whereas before it was simply the only logical explanation. Now there is proof.

Non-controversial take: if a day care racks up dozens and dozens of code violations in the space of a year, they not should continue to receive millions of dollars in public money.
Non-controversial take: random adults with no children at a daycare shouldn’t be trying to go into said daycare.

Having seen footage of the dozens and dozens of establishments calling themselves “daycares” this is not much of an exaggeration. Heck, you could probably also get state money to run an adult daycare, home health care, and autism clinic out of this location!
