Everyone in Chicago needs to read this AND TAKE ACTION. Everyone else should read this and ask what's happening where you are with your public library systems.
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has proposed disastrous cuts to our city's libraries while setting aside $5M for a ShotSpotter replacement. As library associate Sara Heymann told me, “Libraries embody everything we need to fight back against fascism.” My piece on what’s at stake and how to fight back:
You Can’t Fight Fascism While Defunding Libraries
“Libraries embody everything that we need right now to fight back against fascism," says Sara Heymann.

MORE Breaking on MS NOW: Pete Hegseth refused an interview request for the Pentagon Inspector General's investigation into Signalgate, according to two sources who read and were briefed on report.

Hegseth would not turn over his phone, a source who read the report told MS NOW.
Breaking on MS NOW: The Signalgate report contradicts Pete Hegseth's claims he did nothing wrong. It shows he "violated policy by using a non-approved device," a source who read the report says.

Hegseth failed to preserve records. The report says he put the operations and service people at risk.

Pete Hegseth says he’s going to court-martial me for saying the same exact thing he said 9 years ago. What changed for Pete? Well to start, he spends all day thinking about how he can suck up to Trump. When Trump says jump, he says how high.

She was eventually let go, per David Goodhue of the Miami Herald, who also took this footage:

Important: WaPo is doubling down on its reporting on Trump's bombings, asserting expressly that the second strike was ordered "when" the two survivors were "detected."

Hegseth is suggesting he didn't see the survivors, but the question remains: Were they visible, or not? Time to see the video.

This is the same position Kevin Roberts articulated at the Heritage Foundation:
Fuentes vile views must be debated and engaged because of free speech, but that same standard does not extend to campus (even though that is what campus leaders were told for years when it came to other racist speech).
Trump DOJ official Harmeet Dhillon describes the crackdown on schools & speech in response to alleged antisemitism.

Minutes later, asked about Nick Fuentes, she says: “the antidote to speech that you don't like is more speech. It isn't shutting down speech.”

TN07 is a story about gerrymandering: the GOP cracked Nashville into 3 districts when it redrew the 2022 map, destroying the Dem seat there.

Fast-forward: a section of Nashville, which just 5 years ago had a Dem representative, is now voting Dem by huge margins but it's been designed to not matter.
