Sorry to hear that! Sounds like you had an overwhelmingly negative experience. Sadly, you're right: It's more or less a crap-shoot. I can only say I've met the widest variety of human beings—both beautiful souls and those utterly unpersonable, or even manipulative or cruel—identifying as Thelemites.
