ANU spent $605,958 on Chancellor Julie Bishop’s office in a high-rise glass tower in Perth last year and $473,455 to the end of September this year. The university paid at least $800,000 for renovations to the office in 2021, and rent amounted to $15,000 a month. FFS!!

Barnaby Joyce’s political grey area www.thesaturdaypaper.com.au/comment/edit... via @thesaturdaypaper.com.au
It's most likely that Joyce will run for One Nation in the Senate. The money's good and the role is unburdened by expectations of competence. For Joyce, it’s just another grift.
Barnaby Joyce’s political grey area
You can say this about Barnaby Joyce: it took him eating dinner in Pauline Hanson’s parliamentary office to realise how much he resembles a steak cooked on an open sandwich press. What the man lacks i...

Coalition puts internal politics above all else
Two thoughts come rushing to mind as I attempt to follow the ridiculous and irresponsible machinations of the two opposition parties over Australia’s climate targets, especially net zero by 2050. The ...

1. Many Canadians, including me, are questioning Carney’s commitment to #ClimateAction.
2. Max knows what he’s talking about.
3. Yes Carney should be communicating better. He may also be much more focussed on results than looking good. That’s how non-politician experts think.
4. Let’s keep watching.
Mark Carney managed to trade a pipeline that will never get built for meaningful progress on industrial carbon pricing and electricity interties — both of which will get more wind and solar built.

Remember when people thought he wasn't good at politics? www.nationalobserver.com/2025/11/27/o...

Paris is getting a whole new Metro network. And it’s huge | CNN

I think Barnaby stuffed up his announcement by teasing it and publicly equivocating. It might have been a shock if done out of the blue. Now it's like 'so what and who cares what you do anyway'.

Israeli group B’Tselem notes that, since a supposed “ceasefire” in Gaza, Israel has:

* killed 345 Palestinians,

* denied food to 70% of the population who need it,

* demolished a further 1,500 buildings.

All of this is in blatant violation of the agreement.

Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions fell 2.2% last financial year. About half of the reduction was due to an increase in solar and wind generation pushing coal-fired power out of the system.
