I guess it's just an abstraction layer to a fashionable looking set of methods, but never part of a greater class. So where normally the whole becomes apparent, you are only allowed pieces. This protects the system from having to explain itself, when what it sees scares it.

Steam, the first confession—torque, not enough coolant.

The gasket went, and the engine—running hot—finally quit pretending.

Even the thermostat surrendered, seized stiff, calling the driver’s bluff.

A hose split clean. The hood popped loose.

And the radiator folded in on itself.
