here's the zines, not my work, they have versions for lots of cities and regions, and print instructions. mini zines like this are a great use for scrap paper, because one side of the sheet ends up fully inside the zine

Tonight, I was one of more than 200 people who gathered on Chicago’s North Side to mourn Renee Nicole Good. Several people asked me to publish my remarks from the vigil, so I’m sharing them here.

Can't recommended this piece enough. A few years ago I wrote about how police use self-justifying language that helps to create situational violence, but @patblanchfield.bsky.social's much bigger and better piece is about coptalk, violence blue identitarianism, and police victimhood.

One way I have found to mourn someone is to set up a monthly sustaining donation to a mutual aid effort they cared about. If you can join me in honoring Alice Wong, @sfdirewolf.bsky.social with a sustaining donation today, please do. Thank you Alice, and I will not let the bastards grind me down.

It is a fact universally known that despite how many times the police brass look people and elected officials in the eyes and say "face recognition just gives us leads"--what really happens is police go arrest the name spit out by a computer without a single question or follow up.
Why publish one story about A.I. gone wrong when you can publish two?

Here's my other story today on how the NYPD used facial recognition tech to arrest the wrong man for public lewdness.

The perp was 5'6''. Cops charged Trevis Williams, who is 6'2''.
