Jo, yo cuando vivía en Praga jugaba al “blood or vomit” con las manchas vidcosas y rojizas de la calle, pero aquí todo suele ser pis de perro. Sí que a veces hay algún “blood or vomit”, sobre todo “vomit” por el centro, pero no es lo mismo. ☹️

And no story on hagfish slime would be complete without telling the story of the truck carrying 3400 kg (7500 lbs) of hagfish (called "slime eels" 🙄) that overturned on Highway 101 in Oregon in 2017.

And no story on hagfish slime would be complete without telling the story of the truck carrying 3400 kg (7500 lbs) of hagfish (called "slime eels" 🙄) that overturned on Highway 101 in Oregon in 2017.

Hagfish defend themselves in two ways: they have loose skin that is hard to grab on to & well... MASSIVE SLIME ATTACK.
They produce copious amounts of thick mucus from glands when threatened. This material overwhelms touch sensors & can even lethally clog gills.

Hace 10 años trabajé como 2 meses en la Consejería de Pesca de Cantabria y tras la primera semana casi me dan ganas de tirarme por la ventana con todo lo que rodea a la pesca de la angula (y a los percebes).
La UE reconoce que la pesca y el comercio empujan a la anguila hacia la extinción. Pero se niega a cerrar completamente la pesquería, pese a que la ciencia lo pide desde hace 20 años.
