My dad was fixing me some leftover hue dup bap (Korean rice bowl with raw fish.)

Dad: Want some of those refried beans on top?

Me: what? No! Just gochujang sauce

Dad: or we have leftover marinara

Me, shocked: Dad, no, EW, stop

Dad, totally confused: They’re both red sauce. What’s the problem?

My 19yo is studying to be a machinist and she made these cool knobs to go on the ends of a handle on a piece of equipment in the machine shop. She is a genius and I adore her.

The only thing cuter than a baby in a pumpkin costume is his parents, friends of mine who struggled with infertility for many years and finally had a baby this year. Their faces in every picture look like they’ve won the lottery. LOOK AT OUR LITTLE PUMPKIN.

My 9yo friend in Seattle made a Flareon out of modeling clay and sent it to me via his mom who just came to visit. I made a flower crown Glaceon to send back. (Both were inspired by the all-important question, what’s your favorite eeveelution?)

Wordle 850 X/6

🟩🟩⬜⬜🟨

My Wordle has looked like this all day. I’m totally stuck. Gonna break a 99-day winning streak, I’m afraid.

My most lucrative piece of writing ever was the grad school application essay that won me a full-tuition scholarship. But ransom notes sound like more fun, and potentially easier to replicate. Grad school was kind of a one-off thing.
If you write just to make money, ransom notes are the most effective way.

Feeling like hot garbage so I’m amusing myself by looking for homes for the native persimmon trees I started from seed last fall. It’s working! I have two people wanting two seedlings each and I feel so happy about my neighbors’ future food security and the beauty of free stuff. 🌱

Did you know that the leaf in turning over a new leaf is the leaf of a book, not the leaf of a tree?

Now you do.

We just took a neighborhood walk with my visiting in-laws. My MIL had her rollator (rolling walker with a seat) and I had my little folding stool so I could sit down every couple blocks and rest. It was so nice not to be the only one people had to adjust their pace for. I need more disabled friends!
