Chelsea immigration attorney Andrew Lattarulo represents the boy, who WBUR is not naming due to his age. The hearing was streamed on video but the judge did not permit WBUR to observe it; Lattarulo said he requested that the hearing not be public to protect the child's privacy. After a two-hour proceeding, Judge Jason Braun ruled the boy can stay in the United States for now, but he must remain at the juvenile detention center in Winchester, Virginia until his case is heard again Nov. 5. "I fought as hard as I could, but at the end of the day, the judge is the decision maker," Lattarulo said. "I have to respect that."

I appreciate this inclusion and wish she’d addressed it while (rightfully) decrying our civics education. How do you teach US civics when our very foundations are ignored or reinterpreted with revisionist history?

Harder surface to push off means more hyperextension of the tissue around the great toe.
Turf toe injuries have become more prevalent in football since the playing surface shifted from natural grass to artificial turf. Artificial turf is easier to maintain but is a harder surface, relative to natural grass, and therefore less forgiving and makes for less flexibility when players attempt to push off with their feet. Burrow’s injury occurred at home at Paycor Stadium, where the Bengals play on synthetic turf with slit-film fibers. Former NFLPA president JC Tretter previously called for a ban on slit-film turf due to concerns for player safety. Purdy’s injury occurred at Lumen Field, where the Seahawks play on FieldTurf Revolution 360. Lumen Field is set to co-host the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will require at least a temporary change to natural grass next year.
