A company bought the patent and I believe screwed up the future of it. It was a very robust industrial network. Something they now create as an add on for Ethernet in a cumbersome way.

The reason I got into this project was that I knew how to network an explosion proof scale with fiber optic to the database server using Arc-net.

We had a prototype with valves and all to make batches based on scans or RAL and Pantone codes.
Too expensive. People just mixed it by hand.

Most car color companies are now using the system. You go into a body shop and find the product.
The full system has a scanner and will give you the recipe to mix the right color for the aging car color match.
