One of the downsides of AI is the emboldening of stakeholders to insist on putting bad things on a website. Just because it is possible, doesn't mean it is a good idea.

Your regular reminder that your BlueSky blocks are *not* private.
The worst people in the world now know that you have blocked their favourite account.
Act accordingly.
BSky's super-block is brilliant. It cuts off bad-actors instantly. I think the level of discourse here is much better than on other places.

But it achieves this by publishing your block lists for everyone to see.

And there's *nothing* about it in their privacy policy

Solipsism [SOL-ip-siz-um]
(n.)
-Extreme preoccupation with one's feelings, desires, etc.
-Self-centeredness.

Used in a sentence:
“Her solipsism was not the loud, brash sort, but the quiet, ecclesiastical kind—like a cathedral built entirely for the purpose of echoing her own opinions.”

This is bleak. The whole point of dating and/or being in a relationship is surely to find someone you enjoy being with and talking to.

‘I realised I’d been ChatGPT-ed into bed’: how ‘Chatfishing’ made finding love on dating apps even weirder
Where once people were duped by soft-focus photos and borrowed chat-up lines, now they have to watch out for computer-generated charm. But it’s one thing to use a witty phrase – another thing entirely...

Just a reminder to check for your name in this list of books that OpenAI trained from. If your name is there, they probably owe you several thousand dollars.

OpenAI cried that if everyone eligible author files, the company will go bankrupt, so I'm alerting every author I have ever spoken to.

Ray and Alan. What a partnership. Never bettered on radio. Rarely equalled on TV.
Remembering Ray Galton OBE who passed away #OTD 5 October 2018. Ray & Alan Simpson worked with Hancock for 10 years, including writing over 160 radio and TV episodes of Hancock's Half Hour and Hancock and The Rebel. Ray loved The Bowmans, let's enjoy in his memory.

The Boring Fund will be open for applications in November.

If your small UK charity needs (up to) £200 to cover something boring like insurance or web hosting, take a look.

They welcome donations too.
