This isn’t for a specific project, but I have some opportunities for paid work coming up and my goal is always to have a diverse project team where possible.
Revisited Salutations, Mr. Gray! by running it with my group tonight after not really looking at it for a while. Man, this shit fucking whips. This might be some of my best writing. If you like Trophy, you gotta play it. I’d even give you a copy if we’re mutuals.

Coming from someone who had already been toying in a similar design space prior to the announcement of the event, it's going to be very interesting to see if anyone manages to recapture the energy and participation of Over/Under.

Tom Cruise’s complicity with the ills of Scientology is part of what makes him an utterly fascinating individual, but oh boy does it make him not one to remotely idolize. Like he’d be a top 5 fiction character for me, but instead he’s very real and best friends with like the literal devil.

We put together a rewrite of the Shelterwood Inn scenario to have a version that better focused on Liminal Horror and would work as a great introduction to the system. It’s free to download, alongside our revamped pregenerated Investigators.

I love Penny Dreadful, but man is it one of those shows with a terminal case of “half the drama is a result of characters who have little reason to keep secrets refusing to give each other a heads up.”

So there’s this band Castle Rat. They formally have five members, but only four of them play instruments. The fifth member is called the Rat Reaperess, whose role is to walk around on stage in fishnets and a rat mask while carrying a scythe. That rocks. I think that’s what I want out of life.

It physically pains me knowing Guillermo Del Toro has finished screenplays for At the Mountains of Madness and “a western adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo” that have gone unproduced.

Crimson Peak may have one of the best narrative devices in all of horror films with its setup of a house slowly sinking into the ground, causing blood-red clay to "bleed" through the walls.

If you've ever been confused by the idea that "race is a social construct", know that in the US in the early 1900s, the Supreme Court decided that folks from the Middle East were White for the purposes of immigration because they did not want to legally declare that Jesus Christ was not White.

If you’ve ever been doubtful of climate change, note that the olive, a middle eastern and Mediterranean fruit, is now a viable crop in Oregon. While still a risk, the last hard freeze in the Willamette Valley was in 2013.

I can never* be mad at the Duffers for their management of Stranger Things, because if Netflix wrote me a blank check I’d be doing the same shit. Each episode of the last season basically being a movie? Sure! A broadway show that’s directly canonical? Hell yeah. A cartoon? Fuck it, let’s do it!

It’s one of my favorite things when there’s an artist, writer, or actor that creates this wonderfully brilliant and nuanced work, but then you listen to them on an interview or podcast and they’re kinda stupid. On one hand, it’s a little frustrating, but on the other it is absolutely interesting.

I was spoiled with a “90s movie” style Halloween as a youth, so if I went through the trouble of buying a house just to not get trick-or-treaters, I’d probably end it all.
