I am an older American living in Illinois. I am liberal-minded because I believe narrow-mindedness is like self-imposed blindness. I am a Unitarian Universalist. I am trying to navigate aging (which seems like a design flaw to me) and dong my best to live as well as possible for as long possible.

The removal of citizens isn’t deportation, it’s banishment. And we should be very plain: it isn’t legal, it isn’t moral. It is a human rights abuse.
Citizens can't *legally* be deported, but that didn't stop the former INS. This, a 1999 case brought back to "life" by DHS in 2025.:
