I’ve always loved Mihajlo Dimitrievski’s art in the West Kingdom and North Sea series of games. So, recently came across the Valeria series, and had to pick up Card Kingdoms. Again, love the art, but the game itself is great too. Tableau building with a Machi Koro-type mechanic.

I am so frustrated with Board & Dice Games. I bought Teotihuacan & all the wood tokens were missing. I asked for replacements & gave my address. All I get back is repeated replies of “we are sorry the inconvenience, tell us your address, and we will send you replacements.” This has happened 4x now.

I have a theory: when a politician makes a slightly cogent argument, the media latches onto one piece of it and criticizes it to death like a dog chewing on a bone. But when the whole thing is bullshit, there’s nothing to latch onto, and they just shrug their shoulders and move on.
I'm not gonna lie, y'all: even nearly a decade into this, it still feels surreal that a sitting POTUS can do one long, bizarre stream-of-consciousness ramble about whatever silly shit happens to pop into his head on national television, and political media still shrug their shoulders + write it up.

I so wish that Congressional Democrats would understand that sternly worded tweets are the liberal version of “thoughts and prayers.” They are worthless.

This might just be cynicism, but in today’s politics, I ask myself, “what would it take for enough republicans to vote to impeach and convict?” If the answer is *nothing*, it’s actually quite freeing. Now I can focus my energy in something that isn’t a waste of time.

Today, we played Outer Rim w/ the Unfinished Business expansion. It took us about 5 hrs to play! The ambitions took forever to complete. We had all our fame done about 2 hrs before we got through the ambitions. Might not play w/ those next time. #BoardGames

Fresh off claiming Trump’s bullshit “war” allows them to ignore habeas corpus, snatch people off the street, and ship them to a foreign gulag without due process, they’re now claiming it also allows them to ignore the Fourth Amendment.

Administration Officials Believe Order Lets Immigration Agents Enter Homes Without Warrants
It remains unclear whether the Trump administration will apply the law in this way. But such an interpretation, experts say, would infringe on basic civil liberties.

Today, we played La Fleur for the 1st time. This is a worker placement game where you purchase flowers, build gardens, invite visitors and gain prestige for putting on the best garden parties. Reminded me of a simpler version of Obsession. 8.5/10 #BoardGames

Last game of the day, was Star Wars:the Deck Building Game, the Clone Wars edition. I played the Separitists and won handily. The Separitist ability to exile and retrieve exiled cards seems to be stronger than the Republic’s ability to draw cards. #BoardGame

Later, we played Fluxx the Board Game. I did not think this was nearly as interesting as the regular card game in its various incarnations. I’d give it a 5/10. #BoardGames
