I’ve always loved Mihajlo Dimitrievski’s art in the West Kingdom and North Sea series of games. So, recently came across the Valeria series, and had to pick up Card Kingdoms. Again, love the art, but the game itself is great too. Tableau building with a Machi Koro-type mechanic.

First game of the day was Abyss. First time playing. Enjoyed it a great deal. Lots of decision space, w/ a cool press your luck mechanic. #BoardGames

Was excited to play and win Tales from the Red Dragon Inn. Playing Fiona and Gog, we won on the last possible round and second-to-last possible turn. #BoardGames

Today, we played Outer Rim w/ the Unfinished Business expansion. It took us about 5 hrs to play! The ambitions took forever to complete. We had all our fame done about 2 hrs before we got through the ambitions. Might not play w/ those next time. #BoardGames

First game of the day was Snowcrest, a hand mgt, action selection game where you are leading a village to enlightenment. Light weight w/ beautiful art. 9/10 #BoardGames

Today, we played La Fleur for the 1st time. This is a worker placement game where you purchase flowers, build gardens, invite visitors and gain prestige for putting on the best garden parties. Reminded me of a simpler version of Obsession. 8.5/10 #BoardGames

Last game of the day, was Star Wars:the Deck Building Game, the Clone Wars edition. I played the Separitists and won handily. The Separitist ability to exile and retrieve exiled cards seems to be stronger than the Republic’s ability to draw cards. #BoardGame

We also fit in a game of Quacks with the alchemists expansion. One of the few games we have blinged out with acrylic tokens. #BoardGames

Later, we played Fluxx the Board Game. I did not think this was nearly as interesting as the regular card game in its various incarnations. I’d give it a 5/10. #BoardGames

First game of the day this past weekend was Abducktion. This is a fun game that really challenges my poor spatial sense. So naturally, I lost. #BoardGames

Last game of the day was River of Gold. Loved this game. Pretty to look at, lots of choices to make, strategies to try. 9/10 #BoardGames

Second game of the day was Finspan. I like that this is a faster playing, simpler game for when Wingspan or Wyrmspan would take too much time. 8.5/10 #BoardGames

Today, we played Mille Fiore for the 1st time. Lots going on in this beautiful point-salady game. I lost by a country mile.

Today, we played Harry Potter:Hogwart’s Battle. We’re up to game 6 and after a long battle, finally won. I really like the ideas behind this deck building game, but not fond of the frequency in which the entire card market costs 6+ coins, & I’ve only got 2 or 3. #BoardGames

My husband has really gotten into the tv show Yellowstone, then discovered this game for it. It’s a crisis mgt game that reminds me of a simpler Skytear Horde or Kinfire Delve. We played twice, lost once and won once. #BoardGames

Yesterday, we played Rococo. A pretty game, where you make dresses & frocks for the aristocracy’s big ball. it takes a lot of planning across multiple rounds to pull off what you want to do. #BoardGames

We played Shipwrights of the North Sea Redux. This is a worker placement, hand mgt game where you compete to build Viking ships. I enjoyed the game a lot, but my hubby wasn’t happy w/ the lack of player interaction. He’s right, this is the most multiplayer solo game I’ve played. 8/10. #BoardGames

First game of the day was Wyrmspan. Took a bit of a different approach, trying to maximize gaining cards. Got a decisive win. #BoardGames
