I went to my city's queer indy bookshop in search of Metal From Heaven, The Spear Cuts Through Water, and Rakesfall. They didn't have any of them! But they did have S.L. Huang's Burning Roses and the Monk & Robot series, so it wasn't a total loss

I am so curious how Mamdani's free childcare pledge will work out. Not only does it mean spending a lot of money, it also means having a lot more childcare providers -- both in terms of workers and in terms of physical space.

Most people understand that recorded music developed out of pasta. Like eg tape was first influenced by pappardelle (reel-to-reel) and later fettuccine (cassette) or records took the idea of a round shape with grooves from rigatoni and instead of sauces, you put music on them, which is like a sauce.
