Growing up in Toronto, fond memories, I ate Jamaican Patties for lunch more than I should admit. A few years ago, I took my chefs pack for a trip to Toronto, and our first stop was Kensington market patties. Smiles all around.
In 1985, the Patty Wars began in Toronto.
It was fought over a Jamaican pastry that was growing in popularity in the city, and the pressure from hamburger merchants to not call it a beef patty.

325 years ago tonight (9 p.m. Jan. 26, 1700) a M~9 Cascadia subduction earthquake rocked the west coast from #VancouverIsland to northern California. The Juan de Fuca Plate slipped up to 20 m, causing a large tsunami, strong shaking and landslides
