The beach at Birling Gap has been closed following rockfall today. The Argus reports:

"Coastguard Rescue Teams from Birling Gap, Newhaven and Eastbourne were sent and rope rescue technicians extricated nine people and one canine up the cliff to safety."

The incident happened at Birling Gap, near Eastbourne, on Tuesday afternoon after a cliff fall damaged the steps leading down to the beach.
