Local 150 members attended as part of the Break the Bonds coalition alongside Jewish Voice for Peace, PalYouth NC, Muslims for Social Justice, and Durham Educators for Abolition and Liberation.

UE Local 150 members rallied at North Carolina Treasurer Brad Briner's office on October 30 demanding he divest state workers' pensions from Israeli bonds.

Robert L. Clark, who served as UE’s general secretary-treasurer from 1994 to 2001 and was generally known as “Bobby,” passed away on October 10. He was UE’s first Black national officer.

One major reason: the USMCA failed to add the provisions needed to prevent corporations from shipping good-paying jobs to Mexico to take advantage of ongoing labor rights violations, lax pollution controls, and abysmally low wages. (4/4)

The U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) — also known as “NAFTA 2.0” — has failed to deliver any of its promised benefits to workers. It has just entered a mandatory review period, during which countries can make changes to the pact — or extend it as written for another 16 years. (2/4)

The booksellers unionized with IWW in May of 2024 and have been negotiating with management for almost a year.

"I’m excited to see them take on (and beat) the same union-busting lawyers that we faced in our fight for a fair contract 😡," said GSU-UE Local 1103 Steward Max Bogan.

Members of GSU-UE Local 1103 supported the Seminary Co-op Booksellers Union during an informational picket in front of one of their worksites on September 29. Local 1103 members helped to collect signatures from the community & customers for a petition demanding their admin bargain in good faith.

Local President and bargaining member Caroline Gambrel said, “Our members have been active in organizing at the office, they have held parking lot meetings, [and have been] talking to members across the floor and keeping members aware.“

Their contract expires September 30.

The members have said there has been little movement on key items. However, they won a clean record for Chief Steward Christina Brookman who was wrongfully disciplined earlier this year.

Local 728 in Williamsburg, Kentucky has been in contract negotiations with their employer LDRM for over a week. LDRM is a federal contractor with the U.S. State Department. The bargaining unit employees represented by Local 728 provide critical support to the nation’s non-immigrant visa process.

Eastern Region President George Waksmunski spoke at another protest at Trader Joe’s, & Local 696 member Crystal Grabowski spoke at a protest at the University of Pittsburgh where a zionist organization, MaccabiUSA, was hosting games in an attempt to polish Israel's image during the ongoing genocide.
