Sean & I wrote this.

Reform UK are topping the polls & they hope to repilcate Trump's policies here.

Reform are a threat to migrants & all marginalised people. They are a threat to education, trade unions & democracy.

We must mobilise to stop them.

With a crushing sense of inevitability.

Thousands - literally thousands - arrested, people imprisoned for months. All for - optics?
Breaking: on two counts, the High Court has ruled that the Labour government's proscription of the campaign group Palestine Action was unlawful – a win for its co-founder Huda Ammori, who sought a judicial review of the ban

Not only are we on strike to demand @ucu.org.uk stop its year-long campaign of trade union victimisation, but we also vote again to make clear we are taking a stand.

The TU movement is united on one matter: you do not act unlawfully to one of our own.

It says a lot about the state of UK universities that @birminghamucu.bsky.social have had to negotiate over "recognition that union reps should not face detriment for union work".
It also tells us that all who work in unis need to be in a union.

Today's ruling on the EHRC's interim guidance is a disappointing, confusing and mixed picture.

A trans woman who is a customer in a café can use the women's toilets, but if she works there she might not be able to.

Once again everyday life is being made a legal labyrinth for trans people.

Stand with Minnesota – Stand Up to Farage
Regi Pilling and Sean Wallis We can’t say we’ve not been warned. The killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti by ‘Immigration and Customs Enforcement’ (ICE) agents have shocked people across the world. ICE has terrorised communities from LA to Minneapolis and children as young as 5 have been detained by ICE. A wave of anti-ICE protests have erupted across the US, but many are understandably scared of standing up against a paramilitary which has been given central Government license to arbitrarily detain, even kill, and placed itself above the law.

Every rep at MMU knows that Marie is great at her job. So we have wanted to support her & say to #UCU management stop threatening Marie’s job, her livelihood, the wellbeing of the children she supports 4/12

Minister credits Starmer for ‘taking responsibility’ over Mandelson ahead of key meeting with Labour MPs – UK politics live
Jacqui Smith defends prime minister following resignation of Morgan McSweeney amid Mandelson scandal The Labour MP Andy McDonald told the Today programme this morning that it would be “the end” for Keir Starmer’s leadership if he failed to persuade backbenchers that he will change the way he operates for the better. McDonald said: If [Starmer] doesn’t own the error he’s made, and recognise the problem in front of it and articulate it and tell us how he’s going to deal with it, then I’m afraid it is coming to an end – if not today, but certainly in the weeks and months ahead. He’s got to convince the PLP tonight that he’s got it and a change is necessary. [Claiming] ‘I was badly advised’ is not a good excuse for a leader. Advisers advise, leaders decide. He made a bad decision, he should take responsibility for that … this man said that he was the chief prosecutor for the country, when did he start believing everything that people told him? Peter Mandelson had been sacked twice for unethical behaviour. [Starmer] is allowing someone else to carry the can for a decision that he chose to make. But the real problem is that this country is not being governed. Continue reading...
