Snow fall obscured the mountains today, so this is from earlier in the week.

Orange hazy skies over snowy landscape. Minor clouds near the horizon, with a strange trail of cloud vapor zig zagging above like it was pulled by something. Sharp warm sunlight glows through layered clouds over the mountains. Vapor from buildings can be seen above the forested land. The prior pic, but shifted to the right a little. This puts the setting sun directly behind a peak, and creates a cascade of light compressed between the mountains and the clouds

A hazy orange glow from dawn backlights the mountains. The skies are clear with only the slightest hint of clouds around the mountain peaks. In the foreground, exhaust can be seen billowing from a building in the center. Other building lights can also be seen. Its -22F today, and while that was the norm a decade ago, its super cold compared to the 26F above it was last week.

Though the provenance of the belief is questionable, I have always liked the idea that you are not truly gone until the last time someone speaks your name. With this in mind I will sometimes speak a name, just to myself, and take a moment to remember someone so that, if only in me, they live on.

The light of the rising sun seeps through the clouds. The mountains are barely visible on the right of the pic, blending into the clouds the further left one looks. Forested land in the foreground provides a darker contrast with the higher layer of clouds in the sky and their subtle hued backlight. I am rambling now, need more coffee, especially as the view this morning is full of dark clouds and snow.

Hazy low fog due to colder temps create a boundary between the mountains and the forested land in the forground. Thin cloudy layers shift from pale hues to dark grey as they approach the mountains. Glare from the sun at the left of the picture creates a similar gradient from left to right. Additionally, it caused a glare streak in the middle of the picture.
