What an awesome evening. Reading Bookshops & Bone Dust and Legends & Lattes felt like getting a warm hug from a book. Travis warned tonight Brigands & Breadknives may be less cozy and more adventure. I’m excited to dive in. Fun to listen to him bring his characters to life.

Waiting for the book event to start. Came early so I could pick up a physical copy of normal women.

Late afternoon tea tag notes

Your breath fills you with energy, anywhere and anytime you need it.

… or just have caffeine after 2 🤣

I knew this was a tragedy before I read it but did not expect to be brought to tears. This story painted vividly the shallow life of the gilded age in NY while also showing great depth. So wild to think how differently we operate as a society and how so much the same.
Loved this book.

I tried to see Alan Tudyk at Phoenix fan fusion a couple years ago but I didn’t want to pay to do it 🤣 so this is the picture I got. I love firefly.

I’m being served ridiculous ACA ads in IG and they are saying there are plans for as low as 21 dollars 🤣🤣 I would love to see it.

Current physical reads & a puzzle I started with the kid.

Reread of Fahrenheit ( kid just finished a couple weeks ago and I am reading for a book club meetup this Sunday) haven’t read since the 90s.

The house of mirth I have been toggling between the physical and audio.

Puzzle is classic cars

On a Tuesday night for no reason whatsoever the kid thought it would be fun to make caramel spice together so now I’m making caramel sauce while she watches the Simpsons 🤣

I’m not sure I have the words this morning for how much I loved this book. A 900 year history of unsung women in England from 1066 to modern day. The audio version was perfect, highly recommend. Buying the physical version to take notes and give to my daughter. Must Read #booksky

Ripples in the sky

I walked outside and said; oh look at that, and felt genuine joy.

Sometimes all it takes is a tiny moment of appreciation.

Just a reminder I’m still too magical for the bullshit 😁

Hope you have a great start to the week!

This caught my eye in a library sale bin. Looked at and thought well this seems like child’s play compared to what’s been going on this year.

Mary Jane Seacole was a nurse in the 18th century and was turned away by one of Florence Nightingale’s assistants but continued on and built her own base as a volunteer nurse in the Crimea war. Just added her autobiography to my TBR.
