Update: Well, I'm now engineering a story cascade by dissecting and using the material with a different chapter structure... Then, I tighten the fuck out of it, and I have a streamlined "cascade effect" I've done here while carefully engineering the tension...

I've read 28 books this year, but I don't think I'll get another one in, since Angels and Demons is so long?
I read a lot of critically acclaimed and bestselling novels because I want to learn from them and learn what it is that makes this so great... I know I can do this too, now...

I just opened up chapter 62 by "pulling a Stephen King." I used beat structure and punctuation to denote urgency and ramp up the tension.

Hard science fiction is still written these days! I'm almost done with a new novel, actually, but I keep buying old books by Isaac Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke... And I'm also writing my own novel of that genre. Another 1500 words today...

So today, I revised 8000 words, and I wrote around 1300, although I cut a 300-word section because I realized I could just scatter the exposition in the rest of the chapter instead... "Kill your darlings," as the saying goes...

I write thousands of words a day now and I know my production rates are superb. I studied storytelling and I know my material is great as well. Still, the greatest book in the world means nothing if nobody reads it... I'll need to study advertising next year...
