Yeah I feel you there in terms of fans as that stadium location and experience is ideal. And I think you're right, the actual best case is a new owner taking all three of the properties. Would solve a lot of things

Its very easy to be very in the red very quickly, especially if you're closer to 30k tickets vs 40k

Lease terms arent public of course, but the cost to open an NFL stadium in full is easily over $1m per game (labor, security, cleaning, sewage, etc).
Even if its partial open, its really high 6 figures. And then you certainly dont have parking or concessions.
If you start doing the math,

Fwiw, I think San Diego's lease terms are rather friendly but I suspect 5 years from now, they'll have murmurs of a new soccer specific stadium for similar reasons.

nor did they get much upside on the concessions, parking, normally associated with it. For Leagues Cup games hosted at MLS controlled stadiums, they get a cut as a rental agreement, but not Seattle.

game and think they must be fine, but I reckon they are not and might be deeply in the red due to the same financial structure of paying rent in a huge stadium and not controlling so much of stadium revenue.
Think of the Leagues Cup final this year. Ticket sales were by Leagues Cup (not Seattle),

That's on top of losing $17m a year in rent.
Now NYCFC's owners are a sovereign wealth fund that can take this & can do 'friendly' sponsorship deals because of that. But even then, they have a new stadium in sight which will completely flip the situation.

NYCFC plays at Yankee stadium and I believe they play close to $1m/game in rent to play there.
In addition, they dont receive parking, concession revenue for games. Nor are they able to get any outside event revenue, or stadium sponsorship revenue.
This could be 30%+ of a team's annual revenue.

You would think that buying expensive players from more established leagues would be a higher percentage hit rate, than buying great young talent from MLS going to harder leagues, no?

Misses by MLS: Brian Rodriguez, Miranchuk, Barco, Pity, Latte Lath, Pizarro, Uzuni, and half for Cuypers (he's good, just not 10m euro good).
So maybe its just Atlanta United.
