The "controlled opposition" moniker isn't going away with "deals" like this.

Many federal employees feel utterly betrayed by the party. They were willing to sacrifice for the greater good. But now that sacrifice has seemingly been tossed away. People deserve better.

A promise of a vote is worth absolutely nothing with this administration. A retreat here without actual progress on healthcare subsidies is a betrayal of the people who have actually been enduring the shutdown so far. Democrats need an actual backbone.

Even before this uncertainty around SNAP, Maine has struggled with food insecurity. As someone with a small following, I can't quite match the extent of some of the other ongoing efforts but want to help where I can. So, I will personally match $3500 worth of donations to Good Shepherd. To take(1/2)

Is this supposed to be what winning looks like? Maybe those of us raised in Maine have different standards, but this seems like a clear loss for the American people if you ask me. We desperately need Congress to grow a conscience and start helping the people they represent.

“This Court has once again paved the way for the immediate infliction of injury without adequate (or, really, any) justification,” Jackson wrote.

Further proof that cruelty is the point with this administration. This change helps no one and only serves to hurt an already vulnerable community.

Last night was an incredible victory for Mainers. It was further proof that they show up and fight for what they believe in. And they deserve politicians who do the same.

Midterms are next. And Susan Collins' reign on Maine politics is about to be over. Pick your fighter and vote.

Also a huge congratulations to Mamdani on his win. People are clearly fed up with establishment politics that continues to undermine the power and well-being of the People.

It is time for a massive shift in politics. A shift that re-focuses firmly on supporting everyday people and not the elite.

The numbers coming in for Maine are looking incredible. Maine has always had secure elections and Mainers saw Question 1 for what it was: an attempt at voter suppression.

Thank you to each and every volunteer and organizer who worked to protect absentee voting. Every victory matters!

This is exactly why you cannot trust this regime. They simply do not care about supporting people who are struggling to get by. It’s all a game of power for them. We need to get rid of the enablers in Congress in the midterms and start fighting our way up. Also, Vote No on 1 today.

Mainers, today is the day!

If you haven't already, then please go out and make your voice heard with your vote! Polling was suggesting incredibly close calls on the questions on the referendum today; your vote really does matter! Vote No on Question 1 and help save absentee voting!

It’s good news that the Trump Administration is finally following the law and sending out partial SNAP payments. But it’s not enough. State lawmakers, including those in Maine, need to commit to funding the rest with our own money. No one should go hungry due to what’s happening in DC #mepolitics
The Trump administration will send partial payments this month to the roughly 42 million Americans who receive food stamps as the federal shutdown approaches its sixth week. The roughly one in eight families that receive SNAP may still be at risk of imminent hunger and financial hardship.
Trump Administration to Send Only Partial Food Stamp Payments This Month
The government said it would send the aid after a court ruled last week that it must preserve the program known as SNAP during the shutdown.

Many folks are seeing massive cost increases in healthcare plans for next year while trying to focus on Question 1 in Maine this week. With all the other problems we currently face, this is yet another blow for Mainers. Even after we defeat Question 1, we still have a massive amount of work to do.

I am, once again, asking folks to put aside their differences over the senate race in Maine for this weekend as we stare down Question 1 on Tuesday. We must protect absentee voting so that Mainers continue to have an easily accessible and secure way to vote.

Vote No on Question 1.

Mainers are continuing to face extremely unpredictable futures as we approach winter. Not only is SNAP funding completely uncertain, but there are also threats to heating assistance programs that many Mainers rely on. Our politicians need to stop playing games. Fund these programs.

A reminder for folks in Maine that the deadline for early voting is 30 October which is this Thursday. That is also the last day you can request an absentee ballot. See the website for more details on early voting and absentee voting in general.

Vote No on Question 1!

We are on the verge of a morally reprehensible disaster as funding for SNAP is about to run out. Undeniable evidence that our politics is broken.

For now, please consider donating to local food banks to help support vulnerable members of your community. Every bit helps especially here in Maine.
