Everyone should write a book at some point, even if only for themselves. There's just such a joy in getting words on a page.

A brilliant piece showcasing the power of community - what happens when people care about each other & what can when they don't. 💫

Divesting from the holidays is a powerful ways you can fight back. Between now & New Year's is when this system makes a *solid* percent of the money it takes from us.

Reclaiming these times of community/connection is vital. Travel less, spend local, shop small. Say NO to the status quo.

There’s something rotten alright. When the top 1% hoard the wealth while everyone else toils just to survive, that’s a rigged system, and it’s working exactly as designed.

Cooperatives are a better alternative to capitalism. For many reasons but especially because no matter how much someone contributes, they still have only one vote. Power is equally distributed.

“You cannot allow the richest people in your society to take a bigger and a bigger and a bigger share in economies with almost no growth and not expect ordinary families to get poorer”

Gary makes it simple. Without a reset on the gap between the wealthy and the rest of us things will only get worse

There is a book club organization out there emailing authors telling them the club will feature their work for a "modest fee" for "branded materials" etc. Do not fall for this nonsense. You should never, as a writer, have to pay for such things.

Ahem... We also were not affected by today's Cloudflare outage. js.
We were sure, for various reasons, to not utilize AWS in building our platform. It was much harder than we imagined. Today, we smirk - a little.
the aws outage should be evidence that running half the internet on a single company's servers is a terrible idea but i fear nothing will change

We can build a new social contract for the automated age—a Labor Bill of Rights that reclaims the meaning of work and the purpose of progress.

That contract should rest on three pillars: profit sharing, a national transition fund, and public oversight, says @mattwatkinspolicy.bsky.social.
