Better than yesterday morning when, in the dark, I stepped in cat yuck, my foot slipped three feet, and I nearly took a header (thank goodness I was wearing slippers). Then of course had to clean that up before I could even get some coffee.

Well, that was one of the nicest personal rejections I've ever gotten for a story. It almost completely blunted the sting of the "rejection" part of that sentence.

Almost. 🙃

(honestly, at this point most rejections just roll off me, and it was great to hear positive thoughts about this story)

My awesome wife got me the coolest three-tone sneaks for ... um... well Yuletide it seems, but she had to give them to me way early out of fear she couldn't return them if they didn't fit.

They fit PERFECT. I am adores.
My new two-tone sneakers. Three-tone even. A white upper with a black side panel, and a brown lower, on top of a white sole. Looking sharp.

100% of the women I know love Star Trek. My wife's favorite is Deep Space 9, and she's the one who convinced me to go back to it and watch all the seasons I'd missed (she was right, by the way, though Voyager remains number 1 in my heart because everyone knows there's coffee in those nebulae)

They just don't make movie posters anymore the way they used... oh... oh my... oh my stars and garters....

(This is apparently for the Imax version of the film)

It's really... hard to describe, but it's beautiful. The main image looks like a flower opening, but inside are ribs and muscles and the head of the flower is a man looking backwards, while an attractive man with dark, curly hair is pressing on the flower petal where it opens and using a sort of needle as though he's building the flower itself. I'm hearing the art was done by James Jean, who also did other posters for movies like The Shape of Water and Everything, Everywhere, All At Once.
