The only thing I've heard - literally, the ONLY thing - that points to reasoning is that a Trump candidate in Georgia, Tori Branum, maintains she pointed ICE to Hyundai. If it turns out she basically yelled, "Look! Foreigners!" - sheesh.

Babbitt was a violent insurrectionist who was shot as she tried to get into the House chamber on Jan 6. The guy who shot her was not accused of a crime. Giving Babbitt military honors is akin to presenting Thomas Crooks (the guy who shot at Trump in Butler, PA) with a posthumous award for bravery.
