Was leery of how the sound of the new record would mix with Molly Tuttle’s old stuff but it worked. Drums fit well on those old bluegrass tunes, but the real highlight? Joshua coming back out to sing Dave Matthews’ part on Yosemite. I need a Molly Tuttle/Joshua Ray Walker duo tour and I need it now.

Seeing one of your favorite musicians as an opener is always somewhat of a tease but any amount of Joshua Ray Walker is better than none. Voices solo acoustic floors me every time. Certainly a big improvement on where I feared he might be by now, considering his health issues.

The Twin Cities have no shortage of twangy singer songwriters. Shooting to the top of the list is Thomas Sticha. Dude has big things in his future. He’s back at the White Squirrel for another early show on Thursday, December 11th. You should go.
