Guy who has said he doesn’t want to reunite with his former band for well over 30 years without once moderating on that stance once says he still doesn’t want to reunite with that band.

Nope. That’s not news.

Wayne and Garth in their 60s.
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

As we head into Thanksgiving, you may watch The Last Waltz (and I may too). While such viewing is wise and called for, let us all be reminded of one basic fact: Robbie Robertson was one of the world’s all time biggest assholes and we must not forget that. Fuck that guy.

It has been brought to my attention that Atlanta is west of Detroit.

I have to admit to not having been a massive Todd Snider fan but this is a great tune. Hayes Carll played it in St. Paul last week. Excited to hear this version on Nugs tomorrow.

Watching part three of the Ken Burns new series on the American Revolution. It’s always staggering to be reminded of how sparsely populated the states were at that point. Minneapolis in 2025 has a larger population than every STATE but one (Virginia, only narrowly larger) in 1776.

This is from the fantastic interview Dave and Barbara Gaines did with Jim Downey on his time at Late Night. I’ve said it many times but if you aren’t watching the official Letterman YouTube channel, you are missing out. A repository of highly curated absolute gold. Kudos to Barbara for running it.
he's still got it

Still over here trying to process how the Timberwolves pissed away that game last night. To play so well for the first 23 minutes of the second half and just completely fall apart in the final minute like that…fuck, someone should be doing welfare checks on the players this morning.

Hayes Carll is just the fucking best. If you’re not familiar with him you need to do a deep dive on his whole catalog and you need to do it now.

I’ll never cease being amazed at how heavy the clothes people wore during the summer were a century ago. Just rolling through the city on a hot July day in trousers and a heavy jacket.

The river boat, Dandelion, draws a crowd as it stops at the Washington Avenue dock in Minneapolis on the Fourth of July.

You may THINK you can look as cool in a Canadian tuxedo as Hayes Carll but you, my friend, would be dead wrong.
