Great stuff on actually -describing- institutional identity to be able to promote the institution.
I've been thinking about mission statements in non-profit theatre, and how that relates to self definition, how a theatre portrays itself, and how that relates to the work and the community.

Here's a little case study from my time as Producing Artistic Director of Know Theatre.

Uh... I'm pretty sure there's no line in Othello that goes "I'll let loose the forces of Iago." Though it is iambic pentameter.

(why I was googling that exact phrase is a longer story, but I was struck to see this laughably false answer pushed to me at the very top of the page)

Quietly, Mastodon has become a blogging platform!

An example. A post on WordPress.

If any theatre in Los Angeles would like to program Nick Gill's play Sand, Brant Russell and I can remount our 2019 production in virtually any space.

AI is a tool that highlights the software dev to normie user gap.

Useful AI right now is basically natural language coding. If you think the way the code thinks you can leverage the code to be -very- powerful.

But if you don't - and most end-users don't - it's like any other syntactical gap.

If the Pacers win (and he doesn't play and contribute) Haliburton can never make the leap to superduperstar(tm) right? His narrative goes underwater until he basically flu-games right?

I've been a big @dannagal.bsky.social fan for a minute or two now and she is always good - but honestly never better then when putting a vulnerable human face on policy decisions.
