I wonder how many instances of this trope and other so-called competition among women in social situations IRL are actually just friends protecting each other from creepy guys who can't or won't read the room and want a scapegoat for why they struck out.
I don't understand the jealous cock-blocking ugly fat friend grenade someone needs to dive on or extract stereotype. In any social situation I'm the D.U.F.F. by default and there's nothing I want more than for my friends to get all the dick they want whether I pull any or not.

Later editions moved away from it but one of the fun parts of 1st edition Vampire The Masquerade was the devs just going hog wild with making every famous historical or mythological figure secretly a vampire
