The armor plates can fold Seward at a joint where I circled in red, up to around 90 degrees give or take, maybe a bit more. It doesn’t quite fully clear the shoulders but should give you some room to move her arms.

Overall this was really fun! I fell in love with this design when it was announced and while a simpler build than I expected (maybe coulda been a bit cheaper than it was) the end result with even minimal detailing looks amazing, with a lot of cool posing options. Definitely worth the build!

It's not the most obvious, but one cool accent I decided to do was use fluorescent green paint for the panel lines on the armor. You can kinda see it (it's not super vibrant when it's dried), but it glows beautifully under UV light! And as a nice bonus, the green plastic included fluoresces too!

And as mentioned (and shown in the first pic) you can disconnect the fuel tanks and pull off the lower parts of the arm armoring, and turn it into forearm mounted cannons.

I was worried about the weight, but her arms hold it up pretty well! No real issues there, which was a nice surprise.

A nice bit of tech is when you close it up for the full protective cloak, the parts in front actually click together, so it holds without any gap. But it separates easy enough you don't really need to worry about breaking anything.

I like the way it looks, her eyes JUST poking above the collar

Tank comes with a pretty cool set of gear - a large bit of an armored cloak that has these badass giant fuel tanks on it. However those can function both as moveable protective armor, and detach to use the fuel tanks as massive beam cannons.

Here's the open/normal version of the armor.

A big girl with big... cannons, #MegamiDevice Buster Doll Tank is all built and ready. I do love the design this one has, and the dark grey (semi-matte out of box) pairs with the bright (fluorescent!) green plastic really well - it's a great color scheme!

Lightspeed Rescue had trains in it with the Supertrain Megazord (Renketsu Gattai Grand Liner from Kyukyu Sentai GoGoFive) though that’s obviously not anywhere near the same as a whole series

And as I mentioned in another post, I discovered that some of the fluorescent paint I picked up is thin enough to flow as panel liner right away - so while it’s hard to tell in normal light, she’s got (and will keep getting) some very cool highlights under UV

Buster Doll Tank is built up in three main phases, and I finished the third one - a more mid-armor style. Rather than having all her gear, or full “civilian” gear, this is a nice little middle ground.

Today’s #gunpla haul! Nothing super fancy but gonna be big parts of my GBWC idea for next year. The RG Zeong and MG Freedom 2.0.

Also unrelated but grabbed some fine detail paint brushes and some deep blue paints. Not related to the kits but I was at the shop anyway :P
November 22, 2025 at 10:28 PM
Mission successful! I’ve got most of the main kits I need now for next year’s #GBWC entry. Pics when I get home of the haul.

I might even start working on the test build sometime soon… :)

We also grabbed lunch at Torchy’s Tacos and DAMN it was good 🌮

The next “stage” was mostly rebuilding the chest and waist, adding the sailor style looking uniform instead of just the body suit. There’s also a nice pair of brown shoes replacing the end of the leggings.

A nice little inclusion are these extra pieces to add onto the feet in this mode - they add balance and stability.
November 21, 2025 at 3:08 PM
The main “core” body is all done. It built up really nice, and by contrast to some prior builds, they eliminated seams on the legs by building joints that slot into the top and bottom of fully molded round pieces.

Saw Angel’s Egg with my wife last night… what an absolute trip of a movie. Beautiful and haunting but man I had to spend like an hour after reading analysis to see what actually happened.

I knew Mamoru Oshii was artsy from other movies, but this was something else.

So far I can tell the difference in how the Block2-M body builds up. The shoulders are much different in the joints on both sides, and the abdomen is completely different with how it used to be, feeling more stable. I like it so far!
November 20, 2025 at 9:31 AM
The color manual has things like some color poses and color correction guide, but no actual instructions.

The Block2-M manual is just for the core body, not even mentioning the head at all.

Then there’s a manual that will build up the specific body parts and armor for the Tank.

Pretty cool!

One interesting thing is the Buster Doll series advertised as using their updated “Machineca Block2-M body,” which I’m kinda excited to see.

But because they’re built on the Block2-M, it’s actually got its own manual! You build up the core body, then modify or add onto it for the specific kit.

Par for the course for Megami Device kits, this thing comes with a billion runners, most of which only have a handful of pieces. I guess with how modular they make them, it makes sense? Maybe, I dunno.

No noodle hand runner anymore though! They’re on a proper runner sheet now!

Heading towards the end of the year, but this gal has been on my radar for a while - the #MegamiDevice Buster Doll Tank.

A variant with a different color scheme has been more readily available, but I like the dark purple and neon green a ton.

Also got in my #gunpla Reddit Secret Santa gift - a cool little mix! I love the Builders series Burning variants so another one is welcome, and I was gonna get a second Gquuuuuux for a diorama, and the 30MF are awesome!

And #girpla from @gundamplanet.com thanks to their early sale e-mail :D

There we go! Not the most complicated build but a nice little piece, and showing how just a little extra work with a small paintbrush and some paints can add to a lot.

Taking a day or two off, a secret Santa is coming this week so see if I get something really cool 🤞🏻

Less of a focus but there’s some small details on the backpack piping, hips, and ankles that had some dark gray in the line art and sample images in the manual - I hit those with paint too, as well as two black stripes on the “ears” on the head.

It’s not a lot, but adds just that little more depth.
