no story about elon musk or his companies is complete without reference to both his overt white nationalist agitation, or his willingness to put that rhetoric into action by gleefully consigning countless thousands of people of color to death while running DOGE
it should probably be a bigger story that the richest man on earth and leading Republican is a fucking Nazi

media needs to stop beating around the bush. this is Nazi shit.

Reporter: How long does your admin plan to pause asylum?

Trump: A long time. We don’t want them. We don’t want those people. You understand that? You know why? Because many of them are no good.

Fuck Northwestern
It's notable that this comes, over the widespread opposition of their own faculty, after Trump's support has dropped like a rock and a bunch of the administration's other power grabs are losing momentum even on the legal front.

The gentry running NU are doing this because they want to.
Northwestern joins the growing list of US universities which are caving to Trump by agreeing to illegally ban trans people from facilities.

Banning trans people from bathrooms is illegal in Illinois, as affirmed by law and a court ruling.

This is pretty revealing. Just how corrupt they are
This is one of the most important exposés published in WSJ in several years, and it derives from intercepts and analyses by foreign intelligence services studying the conduct of Trump and his inner team. It's first and foremost a wake up call to the people of the United States.

Why do UI and Eversource continue to wage war on former PURA Chair Gillett? To intimidate future regulators and reverse the gains she delivered for consumers and the environment, She represents a threat to their insatiable greed and we need to get this out there energyandpolicy.org/after-gillet...
After Gillet’s departure, Connecticut regulators changed rate case decisions to increase utility profits, customers’ bills
After Chair Marissa Gillett departed PURA, the remaining commissioners changed proposed final rate case decisions to higher bill increases.

I’m not surprised, but still shocked at the same time.
NEW: @propublica.org investigated the Chicago apartment raid where kids were zip-tied and citizens detained for hours. They find:

- NONE of the arrested were criminally charged
- NO evidence the building was "filled with TdA terrorists."
- ZERO legitimate reason for DHS to rappel from a Blackhawk.

Think about it...WTF does it say about these CEOs dining with Trump at this time.
Trump wines and dines Wall Street CEOs as Congress is voting to sign away our healthcare for a temporary pause to the government shutdown.

They get the glitzy dinner, we pay the bill. Every time.

I find this to be an interesting next step. I think it could make for a defining issue in January.
Now that Dems have capitulated, at the very least they should now make every future extension of funding contingent on Trump following the law. Any lawbreaking must be met with: No more votes from us, period.

My exchange with @brianbeutler.bsky.social on that point:

Hopeful graph
Independents blame Trump and the GOP for the shutdown by a 2:1 margin.

Trump’s approval with people under 30 has completely cratered.

63% of Americans disapprove of Trump’s management of the federal government.
