My grandpa died last year a few days after his 99th birthday. The angriest I ever saw him was when Katy Perry married Russell Brand, who he hated. I wish I could ask him about this situation.

I misplaced the after-action report I wrote on last year's Christmas Eve dinner, including my assessment of the quantity of each type of fish I ordered for Christmas Eve dinner. The only thing I remember is that 96 clams was far too many clams and I dropped them too late and some didn't open.

There's way too much gatekeeping in metal. If Black Sabbath came out today, there are people who'd insist they're not really metal. Bands like Sleep Token and Ghost and Babymetal are clearly metal, spiritually, regardless of the nuances of their sound, and we should be claiming them and their fans.

The foreign-born of the US population is 15.4%, just slightly higher than the 14.8% of the US population that was foreign-born in 1890.
Rep. Kat Cammarck: "Today, one in six people in the US is foreign born. That quite frankly is not sustainable to maintain a culture that we are known for here in the United States."

I went to a Catholic funeral mass last week after not going to church for many years and they at some point changed words here and there. Changes so minor and seemingly pointless that I have to assume they were intended to get precisely this reaction out of people like me.
