The River Keepers have piles of boulder 30-40 feet high and must be 50 tree trunks with roots across the road in the field now. They will start deepening and "fixing" the river and the banks in another couple of months. I don't know how it will affect my river bank or the boys' swimming hole.

The message from the White House this morning is that, once again, it falls on ordinary American citizens to remain calm and professional when dealing with the heavily armed agents of the government because they are very emotional and might fly off into a murderous rage at the slightest insult.

I was asked for all my pennies yesterday at a store when the clerk realized I had a lot of them. Stores and states had better come up with a plan soon. It's kind of crazy they haven't done that yet.

I made Momofuku Sesami Miso Noodles with the addition of Shiitake Mushrooms and Shrimp last night and it was delicious. Momofuku makes a nice base for tasty meals for singles.

So Trump has begun a war with Venezuela because he doesn't like their leader. So much for not getting us into unnecessary wars. Is Spineless Congress just going to say this isn't a problem?

Everyone has gone home and I am exhausted. It was fun but the mountain house is tiny and 14 people plus 3 dogs don't fit really well. Fortunately the kids spent a lot of time outside. They didn't seem to mind the cold.

I just caught my neighbor sneaking a smoke, this is after she had open heart surgery this past summer and still has a heart defect. I won't tattle but really?

Plumbers fixed the freezing pipes... I hope because next week the highs will be in the low 20s.

The hot water on demand line is frozen again and it is only 22 degrees! I've contacted the plumber but I guess something will have to be done.

The tankless water heater froze up last night but a kind set of plumbers thawed it out. Plumber #1 is going to think about a fix but he thinks it will be okay, unless we go into the -0s again. I think it was something outrageous last night like -17 with the wind chill.

More snow, high winds, the trick the next few days is to keep the pipes from freezing. Right now it is 2 degrees with the wind chill.

So the bear that comes by now and then, apparently climbed up on top of the covered wood pile and peed. It froze. I don't know how long ago but isn't he supposed to be hibernating?
