City/suburban kids get out here in the country and think they can just drive into someone's hay field and park. They look dumbfounded when you point out that someone owns the field and they are trespassing.
Last night I went to a Thai restaurant for Pho and shared a new to the menu Thai dessert. What I like about the place is they make a point of introducing new Thai dishes and educating us about them. It's pretty weird for the mountains but it's thriving.
I have such fun at the Pelikan Hubs! Lots of nice people and the chance to see or try new to me pens and ink. Also we trade info. Nice pens, BTW.
The wind today is something fierce. 30 mph with higher gusts. This old place was built by mountain people though and usually the wind coming down the gap hits the low roof on that side and goes right over.

Well THIS is very cool: cancer patients who received Covid vaccines had a longer median survival than those who hadn’t – suggesting the vaccine somehow helped their immune systems fight the disease.

Yay, it was delivered to me this morning on Kindle. I am looking forward to it!
Trump thinks the White House is another one of his hotels.
I have a gigantic cold sore on my lip, thanks to my brother, and a video appointment with a doctor soon. The latter is kind of amazing.
If you're not a criminal or a wannabe criminal, the Republicans don't want you.
It is an eyeopener to discover everyone thought my parents were terrible parents, neglecting us kids. And realize that they are right. Okay, we did have a weird upbringing. I thought it was normal-ish.
This is a great podcast to listen to and his site has a lot of fountain pen info for newbies!
I have the best family! They came today to chop the firewood for the winter! This is the last year for the wood stove. I'm going to put in gas logs when the wood runs out. I'm getting too old for the pioneer life.
The worst thing Republicans ever did (I'm looking at you Reagan) was lower the tax rate on the rich.
On a macabre note, Diane Keaton's death hit me hard because she's a Boomer and I realized that this is it: the great Boomer Die-Off has begun. Another ten years and politics in America will be so different without the old white men who've clung to power so long.
I truly feel sorry for you. The low pay doesn't make up for it either.
Grandkids and their parents are coming to the mountains to saw firewood, maybe trees, fish a little, hike and maybe do the corn maze. A couple of years ago we did it and it was too scary and too wet. Not sure I can talk them into a repeat.
One of the things Trump, the pandemic and the internet has taught me is that about 30% of Americans have lost their minds, are mean, are stupid or are all of that and then some.
I finally found a pack of Momofuku noodles, Tingly Chili Noodles, at the store and scooped it up. I don't so much like it plain, but with added egg and veggies, well it's a lip numbing treat!
... and then they will quietly hire them back when it becomes apparent that the government needs them to function. We've seen this before.
My sister in law got to take their small dog into the rehab/nursing home to visit my brother. I don't know who was happier. She sent me a picture of the them asleep. Dogs bring the healing vibes for sure.
"Old Lady" me is just a little afraid I'll drop dead and my kids will get ahold of it. I've been feeding select pages into the wood stove for that reason.
"brand" I should have said rather than ink. I like the blue, too.
Yes, it's an Italian ink that I don't think many newcomers know about. I hope they will discover Aurora. It is a lovely, very dependable ink.
Trump doesn't listen to his own hooey. You shouldn't either.
Poor old Trump, those around him are taking advantage of his declining mental faculties. He sounds so out of touch with what's going on.
