Leicester has long been one of the leading universities nationally for palaeontology & geology - this would be a terrible loss, as would the loss of other subjects such as modern languages:

All shares of this much-appreciated. Sorry if it's boring. Just another instance of me attempting to rehabilitate one of my books after my ex-publisher Unbound failed to pay me a large chunk of earnings from it, went into administration and took it temporarily out of print.
I'm giving away two signed copies of my (recently republished) book 21st-Century Yokel, with two postcards of this fab otters linocut by my mum, Jo.

Around 70 percent of states in the contiguous U.S. have seen declining snowfall in recent winters, although parts of the West and some of the South have experienced more snow.

See how snowfall is changing across the United States here:

Tonight we decided that our lovingly murderous kitten is part ocelot. -this is of course not true at all, as ocelots range doesn't include the wilds of southwestern Wisconsin where she was found. But it does appeal to our wildchild to think she has such a distinguished pedigree.

After seeing them in anime after anime, I finally looked up Japanese omletes, Omurice. And was surprised that there is more to them than just ketchup on top. The inside is full of pan-fried chicken rice and ketchup. It does sound pretty delicious and filling.

And it's a story that illuminates the ways the U.S. is failing to control what could become the next pandemic. 🧵
