Once you go through the door marked ‘activism’, it’s a sheer drop; when you land, you discover that you've been in the wrong room all your life & there's a lot more doors (but no ‘exit’).. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnU6rUuUlzM #Nanas

💚 Very sad to hear of the passing of Jane Goodall. Her work and life’s mission championed conservation and the protection of our planet, and deepened our understanding of the natural world.

Endangered – the remarkable water vole is making a comeback
Predation, pollution, climate change and habitat loss made Kenneth Grahame's Ratty one of the UK's most endangered species. But wildlife trusts are on the case

A society that doesn’t value life, care for those in need, regards healthcare as a luxury not a necessity, will ultimately not value the care givers, the providers & cut them

It will see life expectancy fall, distain for the poor & sick, value placed in material things instead

No, sheep are not firefighters.

Nor do you ‘fight fire with fire’

You fight fire with *water*.

Re-wet our upland peat bogs - which have been badly damaged by burning, drainage & overgrazing - converting them to fire-prone monocultures of heather (north England) & molinia (Dartmoor, Bodmin)

For me, the right to protest... is the right to fulfil my obligations. I saw harms, engaged with protest and so became 'Activist' ...because trusting governments/industries/regulatory bodies etc. with the future, is clearly not an effective solution.

Yup. This list is why it’s very annoying when people say “Why didn’t Americans protest?” Most major US protests happened in the last decade! They resulted in almost no policy change because officials failed the people over and over. But the people did their part and made their dissent known.

If you are too young to remember the Iraq War, you'll hear "no one protested" and "no one knew they were lying." Millions of people knew they were lying and protested. The press not only did not want a record of mass dissent; they did not want a record of mass knowledge of lies.

Their game - asset stripping, profiteering, slick PR, devour; to get high returns.

Govt can put an end by bringing water into public ownership, but refuses. People's misery to deepen.

Agree @elliechowns.bsky.social but would also add that it's said/known etc that Israel too is a nuclear threat... Who gets to stop who in this situation?
Israel’s attack on Iran is an incredibly dangerous escalation. This is not the way to tackle the growing Iranian nuclear threat. It’s reckless, provocative and risks full scale war. UK must clearly condemn attack and use every lever possible to de-escalate.
