It might sound silly, but I mean it: The easiest and most potent way for Europe to hurt Trump this year is to once again use its cultural soft power and to threaten a boycott of the World Cup. In retrospect, running the ICE training sessions in Belize has turned out to be a grave error.
ICE officers slipping on ice while trying to terrorize communities is the most accurate metaphor imaginable. No balance. No footing. No moral ground. Just cruelty, incompetence, and gravity doing its thing.

You always hear the rationale that if a reporter stood up to Trump, they'd be kicked off the plane/out of the briefing, etc. Which means what? That they'd no longer be present for something that's already widely disseminated without their help? They trade dignity and integrity for access to nothing.
This is not a job any news organization gives to its best or bravest or strongest reporters.
