MINNEAPOLIS: “All I did was step outside as a Somali American citizen, and I got chased by a masked person, assaulted, kidnapped. It was inhumane. If this is what’s happening to a 🇺🇸 citizen on camera, imagine what could happen to your loved ones.”

These people should never work in emergency management again. Ever.
Amnesty International released findings from its investigation into the Everglades Concentration Camp (Alligator Alcatraz), which was built by the Florida Division of Emergency Management.

They found evidence of torture, among other human rights violations.

Somehow the fact these lovely people were subjected to this shameful, racist treatment at *Faneuil Hall* - a sacred site in our democracy - makes it so much worse

Unacceptable. Texas Tech faculty must subvert and resist this policy and make a stand for academic freedom.
TX Tech has a flow chat for guidance on what can be taught in the university system. Two things:
1. Very little content seems to be permitted. This is partisan control of the curriculum.
2. I would not enjoy teaching under these conditions, but I really would not want to be a Chair or Dean.

Energy transitions can happen faster than we think:

In 2000 almost 90% of Denmark's electricity was from fossil fuels.

In 2024 less than 10% of Danish electricity was from fossil fuels.

In a profession where the most prominent journalists are increasingly jockeying for position on the best-seller lists and talk show circuits, you'd think one of them would've figured out that punching the bully back would be the most effective way to distance themselves from the pack.
while I’m being cranky, access journalism needs to go. When the president does his “I’m alpha because I insulted you” thing somebody needs to fall on his sword and say “what the fuck is wrong with you, old man?” on a hot mic. the hero of the wizard of Oz is Toto.

It's funny seeing how the moment an American pope was chosen, every tradcath adult convert suddenly started going "oh no I need to schism"

Like the whole Catholicism thing stopped being fun for them the moment the pope could go "hey what the fuck are you doing" in English at em

He disgraces everything he touches, including the Democratic party that for decades relied on his anti worker, pro Wall Street advice
Harvard disgraces itself every day it continues to bestow the "University Professor" title on Summers
The emails have Summers reporting to Epstein about his attempts to date a Harvard economics student & to hit on her during a seminar she was giving.

Where are those right wing Opus Dei mfers like Leonard Leo and Sam Alito when we're called to welcome and protect the stranger? Funny how their deep Catholicism only comes into play when they want to oppress women and queer folks

As @rbreich.bsky.social notes billionaires and their families own X, Paramount, CBS, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, the Washington Post, Amazon, MGM, Fox News, the Wall Street Journal and New York Post, and could soon own Warner Bros and CNN

And they are all Trump supporters

"Liberal media" indeed

Oh hey — you know that big Chicago raid where Stephen Miller said the building was “FILLED” with gang members?

@propublica found 0 evidence of Tren De Aragua, the men weren’t charged with any crimes. 🤔 (sound familiar Tennessee?)

Brought to you by Bill Clinton. Another terrible legacy from the New Democrats.
Paramount, Netflix, and Comcast are putting in bids for Warner Bros. Discovery.

The Telecommunications Act of 1996 was, in the long run, a very bad idea with disastrous consequences.

NEW: @propublica.org investigated the Chicago apartment raid where kids were zip-tied and citizens detained for hours. They find:

- NONE of the arrested were criminally charged
- NO evidence the building was "filled with TdA terrorists."
- ZERO legitimate reason for DHS to rappel from a Blackhawk.

It warms my heart that Colin references Mulefa from His Dark Materials like everyone knows them ♥️
If I had Peter Thiel “I’m going to conquer dying” biotech money, my thing would be that we need to engineer a human who is fully integrated into an e-bike. Like a Mulefa with their little wheels

It's called rape, @washingtonpost.com
Children cannot consent to sex with adults, let alone consent to prostitution. It was systematic, organized rape.

Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

It keeps getting worse. Schumer's fingerprints are on this epic cave-in.
The fact that none of the 8 Dems are up for re-election in 2026 is a pretty good sign @schumer.senate.gov engineered the surrender
