Caught the new Frankenstein in theater tonight with the family. It was so good! Loved everything about this version.

This week, Gill Man and I are reading “It’s Alive” by Julian David Stone: A fictionized account of the making of the movie Frankenstein. If you’re into classic monsters and old school Hollywood this will be a recommended read for you.

Rewatching original Interview with the Vampire. I have new appreciation for this movie with the great cinematography, costumes, and production design. After 20 years of CGI this looks amazing.

Closed out the weekend strong by seeing “The Long Walk” on the big screen with the family. Loved it - strong “Stand by me” mixed with “Hunger Games” vibe. Between this and “Life of Chuck”, Mark Hamill is on a roll in the King adaptations.

Watching “Creature Walks Among Us” - (second sequel to Creature From Black Lagoon). Mini review: 1st half of film much better than 2nd. It becomes “Sea Frankenstein”. They remove all of the gloriously fishy features of our beloved Gill Man and put him in pants!

Double-dose of nerdery today: will be buying my annual Gary Con tickets, and making my annual weekend pilgrimage to California Extreme: the classic arcade games show! I've been limbering up my fingers all week for some Defender, Gorf, Elevator Action, and Berzerk!

We had to say goodbye to our little man Puffy this week. He had been with the family for 18 years, since my daughters were toddlers. That cat was a best friend and little brother to my girls. There are lots of sad hearts in the house this week Rest easy little Puffy.

A brief glorious time!
For a bright, shining moment between 3.5" disks and the rise of writable CDs and DVDs, there was the Zip Drive. 100mb was the baseline version, there were also 250mb and 750mb ones. They were futuristic AF, even with the known issues that they had.

Saw “Life of Chuck” with the family tonight. Beautiful film.

Watching The Substance. Loving it so far. It’s like the love child of Cronenberg, Death Becomes Her, Bubba Ho Tep and old David Lee Roth directed music videos.
