After reading this article, its clear that most of the "Defiant" Parents are just looking for an excuse to not speak to their offspring or hold themselves accountable. They would rather isolate themselves in their later years for their egos, not realizing until too late that their kids won't care.
This article isn't political, but you can tell exactly who these people voted for, even if the estrangement wasn't about politics.
