Got you covered @nadiaoxford.bsky.social

Doing my part to make sure folks know the best places to get their RPG information.

Saw too many bad takes in the sub-reddit and realized they need better influences lol.

It's Fireplace rating time!

Look at this exquisite specimen. It's beautiful, it's homie, and it's absolutely built to code with stones, a proper fleu to the outside and a stone perimeter to prevent fires.

11/10

The world is a crazy and stressful place, but every Thursday for a brief period in time, the world doesn't exist and it's just me, my family and the most delicious pizza ever made.

Feel free to share the thing that brings you peace, here's mine:

The Spider from Forbidden Forest on C64 scared the crap out of 5 year old me.

The music was ominous, and then to see blood on the screen as a Spider ate my head gave me nightmares.

Streaming a Steam game to my Retroid Pocket 5 is pretty sweet.

Squall actually earned his "best looking guy here" prize in this streaming playthrough of FFVIII

Anyone who has beaten Zelda Ii: The Adventure of Link without the use of save states deserves a medal.

What an absolutely difficult game. Quite enjoyable with save states but would never attempt a true run lol.

Lemme know if you owned this as a tyke.

My biggest beef with Game-Key Cards is how awful the box art looks with the required warning that a game is not actually in the box.

The red bar at the top is pretty irritating too, but the white warning box at the bottom is atrocious.

Look at how beautiful that artwork is, display it proud!

Made it to the original Legend of Zelda while on my Nintendo Entertainment System spiritual journey.

Well worth the adventure, though I recommend you download a copy of a map of Hyrule.

Didnt realize there are 9 dungeons, so it’s a bit longer than expected.

Another classic NES game finished!

Rad Racer was one of the first video games I'd ever played, first time getting to the end.

Hands up if you're enjoying a retro video game renaissance like I am this year.

Gotta give a shout out to Suikoden 2 for its lovely fireplace design

Built to code, no flammable objects near the open flame, and that flame is animated so it looks cozy as hell

Big 10/10 for the design of this one. Gotta say that I'm really enjoying the simplistic beauty of the overall art design

Thank you very much to @feitclub.bsky.social for the Game Boy recommendation of Kaeru No Tame Ni Kane Wa Naru (The Frog For Whom the Bell Tolls)

This is an exceptional game, one could argue it as the best on the system. Would never have known it existed without @retronauts.bsky.social

I've played through five different Fire Emblem games this year and this is how I would rank them.

Post the town that you'd want to end up in if you were teleported Jumanji-style into a video game.

If you wanna see a picture of the developers who made Expedition 33, pretty sure this is them:

I've enjoyed replaying a bunch of NES games that I owned as a kid.

Time to try something I've never played before:

The completion bug has bitten me hard.

I'm now working on the final retro achievements for Captain Skyhawk.

Finished TMNT, Blades of Steel and Double Dragon on NES. Essentially, I'm completing all the games I got when I was a kid.

Why are retro achievements so damn addictive?

Glad you're enjoying the TrimUi Brick @guillaumenwr.bsky.social

Wanted to tag you on this one, not sure if you're into achievements but you can link a retroachievements.org account to access them.

Completed Double Dragon and Blades of Steel this weekend. Didn't take long and was lots of fun.

The thing I love most about my TrimUI Brick is that it has rekindled my love of retro gaming.
February 23, 2025 at 4:59 PM
Awesome!

I like the cleanliness of MinUI look, but I enjoy making artwork for menus too much lol.

Still mind blogging how good a quality the screen is.
