Got invited to speak at the conference of one of the richest companies on earth. I asked their budget, and they said it's zero. Their excuse was it's a free conference and they wanted to "give back to the community". Nothing really says giving back to the community like donating other people's time.

Generally speaking if a company is unwilling to negotiate their contractual agreement with me I take that as a HUGE red flag.
If an employer isn't a huge megacorporation and they're unwilling to work on a contract that suits both parties: walk away.

Anybody try to use ConnectX-7/NDR InfiniBand with all inbox drivers? IPoIB doesn't work. I tracked it down to a problem with opensm - you don't actually have to use MLNX-OFED... But I don't know why. 🤔
