The 27 year old woman who was killed in Cork yesterday was cycling on a 50kph street in an urban area.

The default 30kph limit promised by the govt may not have saved her life but it will save lives in the future. We can't allow them to renege on that promise.

Once again, the RSA's idea to task citizens with responsibility for road safety seems unhelpful when we have no role in road design and very little influence on the regulation or enforcement of road traffic offences.

He's 100 % right to protest, this is an issue in every single village, town and city in Ireland without question!

This is ridiculous, where is the traffic management plan. Cycling is a legitimate from of Transport.
Nobody should have to dismount, clearly Jonathan can't. I explained this was a concern.
Pedestrian to mix with people cycling from two-way to in a very narrow section of roadway.

Green light for Strand Road cycle path as High Court rulling overturned by the Court of Appeal
A High Court judgment which blocked a proposed 6-month trial of a cycle route on Strand Road in Sandymount in Dublin has today been overturned by the Court of Appeal. The project included making the road one-way for cars. The judgment was delivered today after a long wait when the Court of Appeal reserved judgment in February 2023. The High Court ruling, which was appealed by Dublin City Council, had been in favour of Peter Carvill, of the Serpentine Avenue, Tritonville and Claremont Roads (STC) group, and Cllr Mannix Flynn (independent).

The final pristine cycle lane finally unveiled a bare few months ago?

Today they’re tearing the landscaping, cobbles and the cycle lane up again.
