To be clear, none of these bills will impact private schools that the state will give $350M in voucher money this year alone. All are intended to punish public schools, limit their offerings, and scare away teachers. How is any parent supposed to keep up, let alone participate in the process?
A hurdle public school advocates have to overcome in Iowa is the overwhelming dump of legislation that is taken up each year. Here's a sample of just FOUR bills in committees this week:
