Why are videos uploading with no sound on Bluesky in 2026? I looked for answers online with no luck.

This is a watershed moment for Texas - for the first time ever, solar supplied more electricity than coal in 2025.

I will say it again: At this rate, TX will likely decarbonize its electricity sector faster than CA.

TX clean electricity is growing at 13%,m more than twice that of CA's at 6%.
Texas solar power surpassed coal in 2025 for the first year ever. Here's why.
In 2025 — for the first year ever — solar arrays provided more electricity to Texas’ main power grid than coal-fired power plants.

This is such a white-centered headline. Like Black Churches and Black Masjids have never existed for 400 years?

I didn't work for the first time on a Saturday since early November and I don't know what to do with myself. What do people do on weekends? And before then it was Labor Day weekend. This is a weird feeling.

Marco Rubio's arc from prez candidate to Trump's Sec of State meant squandering whatever small dignity, principle, and self-respect he once possessed. He did it all for this moment: to start an unconstitutional war, repeating the same mistakes as Iraq, and potentially destabilizing South America.
‘Viceroy of Venezuela’ Rubio Cornered Over Whether He’s De Facto Ruler
“Obviously I’m very involved in this,” the secretary of state admitted after being asked for the third time about his “running” of Venezuela.

Watching Barbara Stanwyck in a movie is next level. Shocking she never won an Oscar so I feel better when modern, very talented actors haven't won one. The Glenn Close of her day.

It is such a failing indictment of the streaming algorithm when a family member sees a movie (screener) they want to see to a movie they haven't heard of that has been on a streamer they have access to.

Shocker but I loved @davidfrenchjag.bsky.social's clarifying deconstruction (or reconstruction?) of Christianity on Christmas week.

I think the Netflix deal is ultimately better for movies and for WB than a Paramount deal (which I 100% believe would end WB) or a Comcast deal (which would take the two best-functioning studios in Hollywood and reduce them to one). I'm open to arguments, but "None of the above" isn't one.

If I’m understanding this correctly, X is owned by a white nationalist who pays poor people of color in developing countries to pretend to be working class white Americans to scare other white Americans into being afraid poor people of color from developing countries are going to ruin America?

To recap: Jeffrey Epstein offered a NY Times reporter photos taken in Epstein's kitchen of Donald Trump and girls in bikinis *and* implored the NYT reporter to put this information in the public discourse in 2015

What did the NY Times editors know about this offer?

The Republican healthcare plan is just MAHA. Its whole concept is to avoid needing health insurance (private or public), and a naïve assumption that innovation is the enemy and nature is your friend.
The Affordable Care Act created a marketplace where consumers could use subsidies to help purchase private-sector plans. Trump’s concept of a plan involves no such marketplace, plunging consumers into a state of nature.

For non-Jews/non-NYers: It's crucial to understand that Jews in NYC have always been treated as a uniform political bloc, and Jews who oppose Israel's policy toward Palestinians have always been treated as marginal/dismissable. A public breaking-off of 1/3 of NY Jews from that history is monumental.
This is a stunning political realignment--Mamdani lost Jews, Catholics, and Protestants but won by sweeping "Other" and "None."

As a Jewish voter in the 33% I hope my neighbors (literally) in the 63%, who were flooded with dishonest mailers, social media, and texts, will now keep an open mind.
